A six-hour drive from Dubai to Oman, plus a one-hour drive up a mountain, led our fashion team to the location of this month's Luxury magazine fashion shoot. Alila Jabal Akhdar, located within the Al Hajar mountain range, was the ideal setting for the fashion editorial and offered up powerful backdrops of soaring peaks and deadly abysses.
Luxury labels like Saint Laurent, Gucci, Victoria Beckham and Prada were used for the shoot, along with local designers like OTT and Endemage. Metallic sheens and textures, dramatic silhouettes and hand-embroidered elements are put in the spotlight, complemented by a beautiful range of accessories from the likes of Miu Miu, Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo and Egyptian jewellery designer D by Dalia. There's an unsettling tension between glamour and wilderness depicted throughout the fashion story, which we've titled The Edge of Reason.
