US rapper Kanye West has pulled out of this year's Coachella music festival, media outlets reported on Monday.
A reason has not been given for the withdrawal of the performer, who was scheduled to headline the final day of the two-weekend musical festival, on April 17 and April 24.
The news was first reported by TMZ, and later confirmed by CNN, Variety and other publications.
The Donda star in February suggested he would drop out of Coachella if fellow headliner and singer-songwriter Billie Eilish did not apologise to rapper Travis Scott.
The incident centred around a moment when Eilish stopped her show and said: "I wait for people to be OK before I keep going", to help a fan retrieve an inhaler.
West interpreted that as a dig at Scott's performance at Astroworld Festival last year, where a crowd surge left 10 fans dead.
West, who legally changed his name to Ye, was pulled from performing at the Grammy Awards this past weekend due to his "concerning online behaviour".
That included continuous threats against Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, who is dating West's former wife, Kim Kardashian.
He was previously suspended from Instagram for 24 hours for using a racial slur against South African comedian Trevor Noah, who also hosted the Grammys this weekend.
West still won two awards at the ceremony.
Coachella is the largest music festival in North America, and it takes place in Indio, California. This year's festival is taking place after being cancelled four times due to the pandemic.
Organisers behind Coachella have not confirmed Kanye's withdrawal or announced a replacement performer.
West was a headliner for Coachella in 2011.
