Las Vegas dims its lights in memory of massacre - in pictures

Casinos lining the famous Las Vegas Strip dimmed their lights to mark the first anniversary of last year's mass shooting at a concert that left 58 people dead and hundreds wounded.

Along with the illuminations, the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign on the outskirts of the Nevada city went dark for three minutes at 10:01 p.m. local time on Monday — around the time last year when Stephen Paddock opened fire from the Mandalay Bay hotel on a country music festival across the street.

The event is the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.

The Strip's lights were last dimmed in October 2017, marking a week after the massacre.
