Britain has announced a new aid pledge of £200 million (Dh960m) for Yemen.
The money will be for food, water and sanitation projects and brings the amount committed to £770m since the start of the four-year conflict, the government said.
“Yemen is suffering the world’s worst humanitarian crisis,” said Middle East minister Alistair Burt.
“Millions of people edge ever closer to famine every day that the conflict continues.
“The only way to end this crisis and the suffering of the Yemeni people is for both parties to agree a political settlement.”
The package will screen and treat about 20,000 children for malnutrition and grant 2 million people improved access to water and basic sanitation.
It will also give 3.8 million Yemenis cash and vouchers to purchase food across the country.
