Bombs kill six in Baghdad

Iraqi security officials say an explosives-packed car driven by a suicide bomber has killed at least six people and wounded 15 outside a western Baghdad police station. A second bomb stuck to the underside of a car elsewhere in the capital killed its driver and wounded three passengers. Both explosions came during the early morning rush hour in Baghdad. Two police officers were among the fatalities outside the security station in western Baghdad's al-Amil neighbourhood.

The casualties were confirmed by a Baghdad police commander and an official at Yarmouk hospital. Both spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to the media. *AP
