Much of the UK woke to snow on Monday after suffering the effects of Storm Bella at the weekend, when weather warnings were issued for northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Storm Bella moved into France on Sunday, leaving temperatures to plummet.

In France, tens of thousands of people were left without electricity, and planes were delayed or re-routed as torrential rain and heavy winds battered much of the country.

Brittany and Normandy in the north and west of France were the first regions to suffer power cuts, but 18,000 households were reconnected later on Sunday, said power company Enedis.

Another 34,000 households in east and central France went without power as the storm made its way across the country.

Storm Bella had also caused problems in southern England late on Saturday and into Sunday as winds reached 170kph on the Isle of Wight.

Electricity to 20,000 households in Wales was cut, while delays were reported on railways after trees fell on the tracks.
