Christmas lights illuminate Champs-Elysees in Paris

Christmas lights on Paris’s famous avenue were switched on as the capital gets into the festive spirit

Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, French actor Gilles Lellouche and president of the Champs-Elysees committee Marc-Antoine Jamet lit up the renowned avenue in Paris on Sunday evening.

Large crowds gathered on the Champs-Elysees to watch as the Christmas lights were switched on.
