Zayed 3: UAE and Egypt begin major military exercises

Moves aims to increase combat readiness of the UAE and Egyptian armed forces

The UAE and Egypt have started a major military joint exercise.

Called  "Zayed 3", the manoeuvres between the ground forces of both countries will last until June 30, state news agency Wam reported on Friday.

The moves aim to share expertise and to increase combat readiness of both forces.

Several pictures of the exercises showed troops from both countries lined up against one of Egypt's Ilyushin-76 strategic airlifters.

Meanwhile, the exercises are being amid the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic illustrating the ability of the UAE to bounce back from the pandemic quickly.
