DUBAI // A worker who used his mobile phone to secretly film hundreds of men and women while they visited toilets has been jailed for three months.
The 31-year-old Indian was arrested for touching a woman near the Dubai Fountain on September 30 last year. The victim, whose age and nationality were not provided in court records, said the defendant touched her bottom three times, after which she screamed at him. Security guards who were standing nearby restrained him until police arrived.
Officers found hundreds of clips on his phone showing the lower body parts of men and women. The videos had been taken over a long period of time.
The defendant confessed to taking the videos in public toilets and shopping malls without the victims’ knowledge. He told investigators he used the clips to pleasure himself.
At Dubai Criminal Court he confessed to sexually assaulting a number of unidentified women and men by making recordings of them without their knowledge or consent.
He will be deported after serving his jail term.
