Woman jailed for biting policeman on the back

A woman who bit a police officer on the back after he tried to question her on suspicion of prostitution was jailed for three months.

The Emirati officer, 31, was patrolling Naif area in Dubai on July 22 when he spotted two African women behaving suspiciously at around 11.00pm.

The suspects, who were standing near a public park in Al Musallah street, both ran off as they saw the officer approaching.

When he gave chase and caught them, one woman jumped on his back and started biting him.

The officer later had to attend to Al Baraha hospital where he was found to have bite marks and skin damage.

Appearing in court, the Nigerian woman, 32, admitted to resisting arrest and physically assaulting a police officer.

“I am guilty but I beg for your mercy,” the woman said to judges while crying in the courtroom.

She was sentenced to three months and ordered to be deported after serving her term.
