Woman dies in UAQ crash as driver loses control of car

A Pakistani woman in her fifties was killed in Umm Al Quwain on Friday when the driver of the car she was travelling in lost control and crashed.

It is believed that the driver, the mother of two children who were also in the vehicle at the time, had fallen asleep at the wheel, the Arabic-language newspaper Al Ittihad reported on Sunday.

Police said the car swerved off the road and rolled over on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, at Exit 93.

The Pakistani woman died in hospital. The driver and her two children received treatment for minor injuries.
