Woman accuses colleague over photos, fearing porn-stardom

Woman sues co-worker for taking photos of her, claiming he intended to use them in pornographic videos.

ABU DHABI // A woman who accuses her colleague of taking secret photos of her fears becoming an unwitting porn star, a court heard yesterday.

The Emirati woman reported YK, from India, believing he was taking photos of her using his mobile phone. She said that when she arrived at the warehouse company where she works each day the man would often walk out of the reception building and pretend to be using his phone.

She told her boss of her suspicions and when the man’s behaviour continued police were informed.

Yesterday she demanded the Appeals Court sentence the man to jail.

“He has more than 200 porn films in his possession, what if he uses my photos in them?” she asked the court.

In previous hearings she has requested her colleague’s phone records from Etisalat to see whether he had forwarded photos of her to anyone.

The man was not present in court, and records did not say whether he had been found guilty by the First Instance Court.

“You have to go back to public prosecution and file a new case against him and tell them this beautiful information,” explained Chief Justice Dr Khairi Al Kabbash.

“What? I have to go back and forth again!” the woman said loudly, before lowering her voice and saying more calmly: “So now I have to go back to public prosecution.”
