Woman accused of stealing diamond watch

DUBAI // A female janitor stole a diamond watch from the toilets of the Institute of Judicial Studies in Al Garhoud, Dubai Criminal Court heard on Sunday.

Prosecutors said on May 31, Bangladeshi A M, 25, took the Dh30,000 watch after an employee left it on the sink to wash up for prayer.

The woman, an Emirati, remembered the Bvlgari watch and went back to get it.

“I went back to the restroom at 3pm to find my watch, but could not find it.” she told prosecutors.

B B returned to the restrooms then next day and confronted AM.

“I asked her is she had found the watch yesterday,” B B said. ”I told her that I forgot it on the sink. A M told me that the watch had diamonds in it and that it was expensive, although I didn’t tell her any details about the watch.” .

B B reported the incident and police arrested A M, who was in possession of the watch.

A M pleaded guilty to the charge of theft, and asked the court for leniency and mercy.

A verdict is expected on August, 8.
