ABU DHABI // A woman who had accused her husband of attempting to kill her, pardoned him at the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court after he apologised.

QS, from Pakistan, was charged with the premeditated attempted murder of his wife, J.

He told the court he did not plan to kill her, and that he only hit her lightly.

“From my side I will forgive him because he said ‘sorry’ when I was in the hospital and asked for my forgiveness,” said J to the court.

QS added that he has been living in the UAE 40 years and had never caused problems in the past.

A verdict will be announced on October 21.
