The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of the person who published an “obscene” video of a football player insulting the national team’s coach.
A video showing former Al Naser and Al Dhafra clubs player AQ defaming and insulting the coach of the UAE national team has recently gone viral across social media platforms.
AQ confessed to prosecutors that he was person in the video, but argued that the film was shot a long time ago and he never intended for it to be shared in public, and he did not know why it suddenly came out.
The UAE’s cyber crime law permits prosecution of anyone who appears, prepares, films or shares videos categorised by prosecutors as obscene.
