Twenty-two people were injured when dozens of vehicles collided in heavy fog outside Abu Dhabi city.
The major road accident was captured on video by commuters on Tuesday.
The crash on the E311, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Road, happened about 8am as visibility reduced to just a few metres.
Commuters are seen leaving their cars and climbing over the barrier to escape as vehicles pile up.

Then a heavy goods vehicle dramatically collides into stationary traffic.

“Hello, hello, cars are coming so fast, please stay out of the way, god protect us, god protect us in this heavy fog,” a man is heard saying as cars are heard colliding in the fog.

Two other men are seen running out of the way before the vehicle hits.
Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to avoid the area in a tweet. Dubai Police officials also confirmed the accident happened over the border on the Abu Dhabi side.
