Three unlicensed sexual stimulants have been seized in Abu Dhabi that could cause a severe drop in blood pressure and threaten lives.
Abu Dhabi Health Authority issued a warning against sexual stimulant products called Magic Chocolate, Pena Tropin and VM Plus. They contain sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil, the active ingredients in erectile dysfunction pills such as Viagra, that are not listed on the product labels.
Such ingredients can cause a severe drop in the blood pressure for patients using other drugs such as Nitroglycerin and could threaten the life of the patient.
Last year, a public health alert was issued over the use of unlicensed sexual stimulants that could cause heart failure.
Tablets that claim to boost performance including Macho Man and Super Panther were named in a circular by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention
While the herbal dietary supplements claim to be natural, these contain undeclared quantities of sildenafil and tadalafil. This can be dangerous to those with heart diseases, diabetes and men taking drugs containing nitrate for chest pain.
