UAE weather: the heat stays put for now
Summer holidays are finished but summer temperatures are not.
The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology says daytime highs will remain in the 40s this week, and the evenings and early mornings will be even more humid than usual.
As a result, heavy fog is expected along the northern coast.
Commuters to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain should also be cautious tomorrow morning, when mist and fog are expected. Conditions should clear between 8am and 9am.
Coastal temperatures will range from 36°C to 42°C during the day, dipping to between 32°C and 37°C at night.
Inland temperatures will vary more, rising to between 41°C and 47°C during the day, then cooling to between 25°C and 31°C at night.
Dubai Police are anticipating an increase in traffic when school resumes this week.
"There's already more traffic this week in the morning and a little bit more in the afternoon," Lt Imran Abdullah said.
From next week, traffic police will be assigned to all schools to keep the Range Rovers flowing.
"All our motorbikes will be out and even our senior police are on duty around the schools."
