ABU DHABI // Strong winds are expected to kick up dust and reduce visibility for drivers on Wednesday afternoon.

The weather will be fair in general, partly cloudy and hazy at times, with some clouds in the afternoon over some eastern and southern areas, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.

Winds will be light to moderate in general, freshening in the afternoon and evening.

Wind speeds will reach 32kph along the coast and 35kph in the interior.

Temperatures will hit a maximum of 44°C along the coast, with highs of 48°C in the internal areas.

Relative humidity is likely to increase during the night and early Thursday morning over some western areas.

Humidity in the coastal areas will reach 75 to 90 per cent, and 70 to 85 per cent in the interior. Fog and mist may form.

The seas in the Arabian Gulf will be slight to moderate and in the Oman Sea, it will become rough at times in the afternoon and in the evening.

“Winds will be fresh over the western area of Dubai and Sharjah, causing some blowing dust in the interior areas,” said a duty forecaster at the centre. “Horizontal visibility is expected to drop to 2km to 3km during the daytime, from noon to 5pm.”

A slight increase of about 3°C to 5°C in temperature is expected over the next two to three days, he said.
