UAE weather: Scattered showers expected across much of the country

DUBAI // Patrially cloudy skies and light rain are forecast across much of the country.

On Sunday night, heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder fell in Al Quaa, a south-western area of Abu Dhabi which borders Oman.

Residents of Al Saadiah in Sharjah also experienced light rain.

On Monday scattered showers are expected in the western region, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and inland along much of the UAE-Oman border.

Temperatures will range between 25°C and 36°C along the coast with lows of 22°C and highs of 40°C expected further inland.

Humidity levels will peak at 80 per cent and will increase overnight.

Moderate winds will freshen conditions but are also likely to pick up blowing dust and reduce visibility across exposed areas of the country.

North-westerly winds could be as high as 44 kph along the coast and inland.

Waters will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.

Real estate tokenisation project

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.

The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.

Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
