Cloudy weather continues across the UAE, with the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology reported light rain in Khalifa City early on Monday morning.
The lowest temperature recorded was of 12.5°C in Jabal Jais at 2am, and poor weather conditions are expected to continue.
"These unstable conditions are due to the Red Sea Trough, which means the extension of the low pressure from the Red Sea," a spokesman said. "North-westerly winds affected the country this morning over the Western Region and they will continue to over the rest of the country."
The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of light to moderate rain, especially over the Western Region.
"On Tuesday, the north-westerly winds will continue and there will be a substantial drop in temperature by about 6°C to 8°C," he said. "This is due to the cloud cover and the north-westerly winds."
The maximum temperature in the interior will reach 32°C and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8°C to 10°C in the mountains early Tuesday.
Cloudy and hazy weather is expected to continue throughout the week.
