Residents woke up to overcast and muggy conditions on Monday with temperatures expected to peak at 49°C again.
"Hot to very hot" weather is expected to continue throughout the week, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.
Skies will be partly cloudy and conditions hazy at times with a slight possibility of rain, particularly over the eastern and southern areas of the country by the afternoon.

Temperatures across the country range between 31°C and 46°C along the coast, 27°C to 49°C inland and 25°C to 39°C in the mountains.
Winds blowing between 15 to 28 kph will pick up dust and sand, causing haze over exposed areas of the country, such as motorways.
Sea conditions are expected to be "slight to moderate" in the Arabian Gulf and moderate, becoming rough at times in the Sea of Oman.
Humidity will reach highs of 90 per cent along coastal areas and 80 per cent inland, rising overnight and into Tuesday morning.
The lowest temperature recorded over the country on Monday morning was 25.6°C in Jais mountain.
How Filipinos in the UAE invest
A recent survey of 10,000 Filipino expatriates in the UAE found that 82 per cent have plans to invest, primarily in property. This is significantly higher than the 2014 poll showing only two out of 10 Filipinos planned to invest.
Fifty-five percent said they plan to invest in property, according to the poll conducted by the New Perspective Media Group, organiser of the Philippine Property and Investment Exhibition. Acquiring a franchised business or starting up a small business was preferred by 25 per cent and 15 per cent said they will invest in mutual funds. The rest said they are keen to invest in insurance (3 per cent) and gold (2 per cent).
Of the 5,500 respondents who preferred property as their primary investment, 54 per cent said they plan to make the purchase within the next year. Manila was the top location, preferred by 53 per cent.

Hydrogen: Market potential
Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
"We believe we are reaching the point of harnessing the element that comprises 90 per cent of the universe, effectively and economically,” the bank said in a recent report.

What is THAAD?
It is considered to be the US's most superior missile defence system.
Production:
It was created in 2008.
Speed:
THAAD missiles can travel at over Mach 8, so fast that it is hypersonic.
Abilities:
THAAD is designed to take out ballistic missiles as they are on their downward trajectory towards their target, otherwise known as the "terminal phase".
Purpose:
To protect high-value strategic sites, such as airfields or population centres.
