Dubai Police have issued a warning to drivers as thick fog covering most of the country this morning has reduced visibility on the roads.

“We request the motorist to drive carefully and safely due to a heavy #fog on external roads in #Dubai,” the police department tweeted Saturday morning.

No accidents were reported from the social media accounts of Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology issued a fog warning late Friday night for “most areas, the internal and the western in specific, with obscured visibility at times.”

By 9am, the sun had broken through the fog along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, but most of the city’s interior remained shrouded in a misty fog.

The lowest temperature recorded over the country this morning was 8.8 C in Raknah at 5:45am, according to the NCMS.

Fair weather, with light to moderate winds and partly cloudy skies, is expected throughout Saturday, according to the NCMS. Coastal highs are expected to reach between 24 C and 27 C. In the interior, the forecast high is between 25 C and 29 C. The mountains will be relatively cool with highs forecast between 15 C and 19 C.

A chance of fog and mist is forecast for Sunday morning.
