UAE weather: More thunderstorms to come

DUBAI // Thunderstorms are forecast for parts of the country later this week as unsettled weather is set to return.

Rain showers are unlikely to be as prolonged as the downpours that caused widespread flooding in March, but drivers are advised to allow extra travel time on Thursday when the heaviest showers are likely to occur.

Skies in Dubai will be cloudy today, with sunny spells raising the temperature to 26°C. Tonight is forecast to be clear in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with overnight temperatures falling to 19°C.

Similar conditions are set to continue in the capital and Dubai on Tuesday.

Heavy rains are forecast overnight in Dubai on Wednesday, with further risk of thundery downpours on Thursday.

Abu Dhabi is expected to remain dry throughout the week with temperatures peaking at 32°C on Thursday, but the Northern Emirates could also suffer heavy rain showers on Friday.
