UAE weather: heavy rain expected as unstable conditions persist

ABU DHABI // Unsettled weather conditions are expected to continue into the weekend with scattered rain forecast across the country.

Heavy rain is forecast along the coast, from Abu Dhabi to Ras Al Khaimah, as well as in Fujairah.

Rain fell over the capital on Wednesday morning with the western region likely to experience more showers throughout the day.

Strong winds will blow in from the sea, picking up dust and reducing visibility to less than 500 metres in some areas. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.

Temperatures will range between 17°C and 28°C along the coast, 16°C to 29°C inland and 11°C to 22°C in the mountains.

Humidity will hover between 60 and 80 per cent across the country.

Forecasters warned of rough conditions in the Sea of Oman and Arabian Gulf, which are likely to persist throughout the weekend.
