ABU DHABI // Heavy fog blanketed parts of the Western Region of Abu Dhabi early on Tuesday morning, with visibility levels dropping to 100 metres.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology warned motorists to exercise caution in the early morning hours each day throughout winter.

Motorists may face poor visibility on the roads until Thursday during early hours in parts of the country.

About 5.30 am, heavy fog blanketed Liwa, Madinat Zayed and Sila in the Western Region, the centre said. At about 1am, visibility in Liwa dropped to 450m. Mist was reported in Sweihan at about 5.30am.

In other internal and coastal areas, particularly in the Western Region, visibility dropped below a kilometre.

Partly cloudy weather is forecast for Tuesday and it may bring showers for eastern and northern parts of the country.

The relative humidity level could increase to more than 80 per cent on Tuesday, and maximum temperatures will hover between 34°C and 38°C, with a low between 17°C and 23°C.

The lowest temperature on Tuesday, 14.7°C, was recorded on Jabal Jais at 6.45am. Seas are expected to be moderate and rough at times during the day.
