UAE pedestrian safety campaign launched

The traffic awareness campaign is aimed at educating road users and the general community.

The General Directorate of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior has launched a safety awareness campaign entitled Keep Pedestrians Safe that will run for three months.
It aims to raise the awareness of community members and road users, and stress the importance of abiding by the traffic laws and regulations and giving priority to pedestrians at pedestrian crossings.
Brig General Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, director general of the department, said the campaign stems from the ministry's strategy to reach the highest levels of road safety, adding that it is part of the strategic plan of the department to ensure security on the roads and reduce the number of traffic accidents and run-overs.
