Fifty orphans from across the Emirates enjoyed a feast of fun at an iftar organised by the Ministry of Community Development.

The children, drawn from a number of different nationalities, took part in workshops and games during the event, held to mark Orphans Day.

The youngsters also lit candles while making wishes and watch a video highlighting the great achievements of people who have been orphaned across the globe.

The iftar, held at a Customer Happiness Centre in Ajman, brought smiles to plenty of young faces.

Volunteers and a number of senior Emirati citizens were also in attendance.

Eman Hareb, director of family protection at the ministry, said the iftar was set up to help boost the self-esteem of the invited children and bring joy to their lives.

The event was organised by the ministry with the support of a number of groups, including Emirates Red Crescent, national volunteering platform, volunteers.ae and Sharjah Archeological Museum.
