ABU DHABI // Tuesday, December 2, will be a holiday for private-sector workers to mark the UAE’s 43rd National Day. Work will resume on Wednesday, December 3.

Saqr bin Ghobash, Minister of Labour, said those working in private-sector companies and departments will get a day’s paid leave.

The public-sector holiday, announced last week by the state news agency Wam, will be December 2, 3 and 4, meaning workers will have five days off in total, including the weekend.

Work will resume on Sunday, December 7.

Mr Ghobash took the opportunity to extend his heartfelt congratulations to the President Sheikh Khalifa, and Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, as well as the Supreme Council Members, all Rulers of the emirates and the people of the UAE.

The 43rd anniversary of the UAE’s founding will be marked with nation-wide festivities.
