UAE leaders commemorate Saudi National Day

UAE leaders have delivered warm wishes to Saudi Arabia to mark the kingdom's 89th National Day.

In a post on social media, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, offered a message marking the strong relationship between the two nations.

“Our sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the brotherly Saudi people on the 89th National Day,” he said.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, also posted a message of support on Twitter, praising the nation for its progress and development.

Alongside a short video showing the UAE’s strong bond with Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Mohammed said: “We congratulate the people of Saudi Arabia on their glorious national day.

“We congratulate them on the achievements that are accelerating."

Similar sentiments were delivered by Ras Al Khaimah’s Ruler, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, who sent a cable to the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman and to Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince.

Celebrations will be extended with a spectacular fireworks displays across many of Dubai's destinations to mark the occasion.

At The Palm Jumeirah's hotel resort Atlantis, The Palm and The Pointe retail park visitors can enjoy a three-minute firework spectacle along the open-air promenade from 8.30pm on September 23.

Meraas beachside resorts in Dubai will also host a fireworks show at 9pm, while Bluewaters Island will be celebrating with fireworks from 8.30pm.

At Dubai Mall and Souq Al Bahar, visitors can enjoy an eclectic range of emerging Saudi musical talent with artists including Fouad Abdelwahad on Monday, from 7-10pm.
