ABU DHABI // The UAE has launched several projects to help development in Pakistan's province of Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab region.
The projects, which focus on education and health, were launched under the directives of the President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, said the country was "indebted" to the UAE. He said the initiative of the UAE President reflected the "depth of fraternal bonds and cooperation between the two countries".
Mr Sharif also said the UAE had always stood by Pakistan by offering financial and developmental support and the President was following in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding President.
