Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has issued a ministerial decision to form an anti-narcotics council.
According to state news agency Wam, the decision nominated council members and defined powers which include supervising the implementation of a national anti-narcotics strategy, presenting related policies, projects and initiatives.
The council will also supervise the implementation of the UN Political Anti-Drug Declaration and relevant international conventions, examining and adopting strategic initiatives and budgets proposed by the higher committees in the council and raising recommendations for approval.
