Flights from the UAE to the south Indian city of Kochi have been suspended due to severe flooding that closed its international airport.
Etihad Airways and Emirates issued advisory notices online, notifying travellers to check with their airline because of the disruption.
Air India Express has also announced cancellations to Cochin International Airport from the UAE.
Etihad is offering passengers an alternative destination of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital city.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this situation may have caused, and we remain committed to offering the highest level of service to our guests," a statement said.
Airport operations have been closed until at least 3pm on Sunday, August 11. The airport had been closed until midnight on Thursday, but that has since been extended.
More than 20,000 people have been displaced to temporary relief camps, after torrential rain, high winds and landslides hit the region.
The UAE Consulate General in Kerala also issued a warning to nationals in the region to follow local safety advice to stay safe in flooded areas.

- October 26 to November 4 International pilates instructor Courtney Miller will be on hand at the studio, offering classes.
- November 9 Bodytree is hosting a party to celebrate turning 10, and everyone is invited. Expect a day full of free classes on the grounds of the studio.
- December 11 Yogeswari, an advanced certified Jivamukti teacher, will be visiting the studio.
- February 2, 2018 Bodytree will host its 4th annual yoga market.

$1,000 award for 1,000 days on madrasa portal
Daily cash awards of $1,000 dollars will sweeten the Madrasa e-learning project by tempting more pupils to an education portal to deepen their understanding of math and sciences.
School children are required to watch an educational video each day and answer a question related to it. They then enter into a raffle draw for the $1,000 prize.
“We are targeting everyone who wants to learn. This will be $1,000 for 1,000 days so there will be a winner every day for 1,000 days,” said Sara Al Nuaimi, project manager of the Madrasa e-learning platform that was launched on Tuesday by the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, to reach Arab pupils from kindergarten to grade 12 with educational videos.
“The objective of the Madrasa is to become the number one reference for all Arab students in the world. The 5,000 videos we have online is just the beginning, we have big ambitions. Today in the Arab world there are 50 million students. We want to reach everyone who is willing to learn.”
