U-turns on Salam Street closed from tomorrow

Municipality says step is required to complete ongoing pavement works.

U-turns at main street junctions on Al Salam Street will be closed starting tomorrow, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced yesterday.

The turns leading to the roadside parking of the municipality at the junction of Al Falah Street with Al Salam Street will be closed from June 30 to July 15. U-turns at the junction of Al Falah Street leading to the Abu Dhabi Commercial Centre with Al Salam Street will be closed from July 1 to July 15, and U-turns of the junction of Hamdan Street with Al Salam Street will be closed from July 2 to July 31.

According to the municipality, this step is required to complete ongoing pavement works.

Surface roads are expected to open on Al Salam Street next month, with construction on the 3.6km kilometre tunnel set for completion by the end of this year. The first urban expressway on the island will have a total capacity of 12,000 cars travelling in both directions.
