A security expert who molested a boy after threatening to castrate him will spend two years behind bars.
On June 8 this year, the Emirati defendent, 29, drove the boy, 13, from Syria, to a remote and poorly lit area in Al Warqa where he molested him, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
Records showed that the defendent had called the boy and asked to meet him and his friend inside the mall.
It was not disclosed how the defendent and the boy know each other.
When the boy arrived at the mall, he was asked to get into the defendant's Nissan Patrol alone.
He locked the car, before turning to the boy and threatening to castrate him and then ordering him to massage his back.
A few minutes later, he assaulted the boy and said: "If you betray my trust, I will have all my friends rape you."
The boy told his mother when he got home, and she took him to Al Rashidiyah Police Station and lodged a complaint.
A forensic report from June 11 stated that DNA traces had been found on the boy's body, which matched those of the defendant.
The man was found guilty of sexual assault and sentenced to two years.
