Two Emirati children died and four others were trapped when a car collided with a heavy goods vehicle.
Col Hassan Ali Sarm, director of Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence department, said the accident happened on Monday about 8pm on Emirates Road towards Sharjah.
"Fire trucks, police patrols along with the national ambulance team were dispatched to the site.
"Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence pulled the four trapped people using extracting tools to cut through their vehicle.
“Children, aged below 10-year-old, died and other four people were trapped in the vehicle.
“They were transferred to Sheikh Khalifa hospital in UAQ for medical treatment. Their injuries were described to be moderate to minor."
Further investigation is being carried out to identify the cause of the accident.
