Trial begins for snooker cue assault

DUBAI// An Emirati man who struck a Lebanese man on the head with a snooker cue, resulting in impaired vision and hearing on one side of the victim's head, appeared before the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance Sunday. The two were involved in a serious traffic accident on Aug 3 which resulted in the Emirati man's car overturning. According to the victim, A H, 27, when he went to check on the condition of the Emirati, Y M, 25, following the accident, he was surprised to see the Emirati get out of the vehicle and strike him on the head with a snooker cue.
