UAE traffic: multiple accidents and roadworks cause delays in Dubai

Accidents in both directions on Al Khail Road caused added congestion to usual rush hour traffic, reported @TrafficDXB, who also warned of slow traffic on Emirates Road, before Al Aweer, due to an accident towards Dubai.

DUBAI // A flurry of accidents across the emirate and roadworks caused delays for motorists on Sunday morning.

Accidents in both directions on Al Khail Road added congestion to usual rush hour traffic, reported @TrafficDXB, which also warned of slow traffic on Emirates Road, before Al Aweer, because of an accident in the direction of Dubai.

Multiple accidents on Al Ittihad Road near the Al Nahda flyover towards Dubai also caused delays.

A major accident was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road before the Mall of the Emirates flyover, resulting in congestion for those heading towards Abu Dhabi.

Another accident was reported on Al Yalayis Street, before the Sheikh Zayed Road intersection, which slowed traffic.

On Hessa Street, tailbacks were caused by an accident on before the exit for Al Khail Road towards Jumeirah.

Meanwhile, motorists were stuck in traffic on Airport Road from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, towards Sharjah, due to roadworks.

And traffic was slow on Emirates Road starting from the Al Dhaid Road intersection towards AbuDhabi.

In the capital, the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, said a broken down car on Sultan bin Zayed caused heavy congestion, while another vehicle broke down on Mussaffah blocking the left lane.
