UAE traffic: Heavy congestion between Dubai and Sharjah

Although most roads were clear, some accidents were reported

Although most roads across the UAE were clear from traffic in the early hours of Monday morning, a number of them remained hit by heavy congestion, namely between Sharjah and Dubai.
A crash on Al Khawaneej Street into Dubai around the Muhaisnah 1 area caused some backlog, adding to an already busy road around Dubai International Airport.
The Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road experienced heavy traffic from Al Tarfa area to the Mirdif City Centre Dubai-bound as well as Rebat Street into the city from the Ghoroob area to Dubai Festival City.
Vehicles were also at a standstill on Etihad Road from Sharjah's Safeer Mall all the way to Garhoud as well as the Emirates Road Abu Dhabi-bound from Al Bade'i area to Al Khawaneej 2.
In Abu Dhabi, a few roads were congested, namely the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road going into the capital, around the Al Maqta area along with Salam Street going outwards from Al Saada Street to Al Dhafra Street.
An accident on the highway's service road in front of the Abu Dhabi Police Officers Club also caused some traffic into the city.
