Commuters faced heavy congestion in and out of Dubai on Sunday morning, with major roads and highways experiencing heavy traffic jams.
Traffic was slowly moving in the Al Awir area near Al Warqa, International City, and on the Dubai-Al Ain Road near Dubai Land. Backlogs were also reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed towards Mirdif, and on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan towards Dubai International City Academy.
There was also slow-moving traffic in some parts of Al Barsha, and on Sheikh Zayed Road near Al Sufouh.
The morning rush hour was at its peak on several major roads leading to Dubai from Sharjah. Delays of ore than 20 minutes were experienced by motorists heading towards Dubai from Al Ittihad Road. Motorists were caught in long queues in Sharjah Industrial Area streets, too.
