DUBAI // The Ministry of Interior has called on motorists to comply with traffic rules and regulations, and particularly abiding by speed limits, to ensure their safety and that of others during the Eid Al Fitr holiday this week.
Drivers have also been urged to refrain from using mobiles, responding to greeting messages or surfing social networking sites while driving. The ministry also warned against taking photos while driving.
Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, director general of traffic coordination at the ministry, said the public must abide by traffic rules, especially around malls and markets, and they must keep a safe distance between vehicles and avoid parking in undesignated locations.
He said traffic patrols will be stepped up on various roads during the Eid holiday, in an effort to reduce congestion and deal with emergencies.
