A truck driver and two others are recovering after being injured when a truck overturned in Khor Fakkan. Emergency crews were called to the scene to free the driver of the goods vehicle who was trapped inside his cab. The vehicle had flipped over onto its roof, causing the driver to sustain severe injuries. The other two victims in the collision suffered from moderate to minor injuries. The National Ambulance Communications Centre (ACC) received a call about the incident at 8.26am on Monday and immediately dispatched three ambulances and two response units to the accident site in the Al Qaddisya area. Sharjah Police patrols joined rescue teams from Sharjah and Fujairah Civil Defence in responding to the emergency and rushed to the site. “National Ambulance medics had to wait for the Civil Defence crews to extricate the driver before attending to his critical injuries," said the National Ambulance in a statement. "The driver was then transported to Khor Fakkan Hospital for further treatment.” The other two injured passengers were immediately treated on-site and also later transferred to Khor Fakkan Hospital to continue their recovery. The National Ambulance urged motorists to pay attention while driving, avoid speeding, keep a safe distance between vehicles and abide by traffic rules to ensure safety whilst driving.
