Three dead and 10 injured in six Dubai road accidents in two days

DUBAI // Three people were killed and 10 others injured in six road accidents in two days in Dubai.

Colonel Saif Muheir Al Mazrouei, director of traffic at Dubai Police, said the first accident took place on Tuesday morning at the Al Manara intersection when a light vehicle collided with a bicycle, causing the cyclist severe injuries.

In the second incident, a man was run over in front of the Riyad Al Saleheen Centre for Quran reciting. The man sustained severe injuries.

In another accident, a man was killed and two others were severely injured and had to be air-lifted to hospital on Wednesday when their 4x4 swerved suddenly on the Dubai-Al Ain road and hit the central reservation. While this accident was happening, another car travelling in the opposite direction also swerved and left the road before colliding with a tree causing the driver minor injuries.

Also on Wednesday, an Iranian sustained severe injuries when he was run over on Bani Yas street near the Etisalat intersection. He was hit by a Range Rover driven by an Emirati as he was crossing the street.

Another accident took place on Wednesday night that involved five cars on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road towards Abu Dhabi. Two people were killed and four others sustained severe injuries.
