DUBAI // The latest addition to Dubai Police’s fleet of cars isn’t exactly in the same league as its Bugatti Veyron and certainly wouldn’t produce the same impressive performance when chasing criminals - but it is guaranteed to turn a few heads.
A camel-shaped golf buggy on show at the 18th edition of Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (Wetex) has been added to the fleet in a bid to retain the spirit of Emirati heritage.
Gas-guzzling supercars are great to look at and often the centrepiece of displays and police information events but this latest vehicle has an extra trick up its sleeve.
The buggy is solar powered and has been well received by the public in test events at tourist landmarks in Dubai, according to police. It just won’t be used in any high-speed chases anytime soon.
