DUBAI // A special team has been assigned by the municipality to carry out clean-up operations after an accident on Dubai roads.

Abdul Majeed Saifaie, director of the waste management department said the majority of the accidents involved lorries loaded with sand, vegetables, construction waste, and oil, which cause the full closure of roads and disrupt traffic.

In the first nine months of the year, the department has responded to 405 requests following lorry-related accidents, in co-ordination with Dubai Police and Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

Residents can report accidents and request to clean up the roads by calling the municipality’s toll free number 800900.
