SHARJAH // Maintenance on Al Majaz Corniche Street is scheduled from January 27 to February 3.
The road facing the waterfront will be closed completely and vehicles will be diverted to the opposite lane, according to Sharjah RTA.
The maintenance was scheduled for January 25 but it was postponed due to rescheduling of musical events in Al Majaz theatre to observe the three day mourning after the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the late king of Saudi Arabia
RTA plans include the resurfacing of three lanes, and widening of the existing U turns. The pavements will also be repainted and road markings will be added.
According to the authority, new pedestrian crossings will be added to the revamped road.
The authority urged motorists to use alternative routes during the maintenance window to ensure that they reach their destinations without delays.
