Sales of used vehicles by a subsidiary of Emirates Transport surged 20 per cent last year.
On Thursday, Al Wataneya Auctions Centre reported the sale of 1,900 used vehicles in 2014, generating revenues of Dhs61 million.
Manager Salman Mohammed Ibrahim said the vehicles are examined by their own staff to provide prospective buyers an excellent assessment of their condition.
The Centre sells industrial-purpose vehicles, pick-up trucks, four-wheel drive vehicles, saloon cars, and buses.
A total of 21 closed-envelope auctions for corporate and private clients were held in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah last year, compared to13 in 2013, he said.
Ibrahim said the Centre will soon be introducing new services, including washing and polishing services, along with customs and shipping procedures for vehicles sold to clients outside the state.
