DUBAI // The Roads and Transport Authority has announced timings of services for the Eid Al Fitr holiday.
Customer service centres will be closed from Sunday until August 3.
All paid parking zones in Dubai, excluding the fish market and the multi-level parking terminal, will be free from Sunday until August 2.
Dubai Metro’s Red Line will open from 5.30am to 1am from July 28 to July 30.
The Green Line will run from 5.50am to 1am over the same period.
Public bus services from Monday to July 30 will vary in timings depending on the stations.
“At main bus stations, such as the Gold Souq and Ghubaiba, the service will start at 5.10am and end at 12 [midnight],” said Ahmed Mahboob, director of customer service at the RTA.
“At subsidiary stations, such as Al Qusais, Satwa, Quoz and Jebel Ali, the operation time will be from 6am to 9.30pm at Jebel Ali Station, and other stations will operate from 5.30am to 11.45pm.”
Route C01, however, will run 24 hours.
Ten public buses between Dubai Mall and World Trade Centre will not charge passengers.
Metro feeder stations such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Abu Hail, Etisalat, and Burj Khalifa will operate from 5.15am to 12.15am.
Commercial and intercity buses from stations such as Ghubaiba, will run 24-hour services.
“At subsidiary stations, such as Union Square, Sabkha, Deira City Centre and Karama, the service will start at 5.30am and continue to 12 midnight,” said Mr Mahboob.
Sharjah station (Jubail-Bur Dubai) will be open 24 hours, Abu Dhabi Station will operate from 5am to 11.55pm, Fujairah station will be open from 5.50am until 9pm, and Ajman station will be open from 5.30am to 9.30pm.
The Water Bus at Dubai Creek will operate from 7am to 10pm, and on Friday from 10am to 10pm. The Water Bus service at the Marina station runs from 10am to midnight, and on Friday from noon to midnight.
The Water Taxi will run from 9am to 10pm, and the Dubai Ferry at Al Ghubaiba and Marina stations on Friday and Saturday will run at 11am, 3pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. At the Marina Station a journey at 6.30pm will be added.
“During the rest of the week, the Water Taxi will operate in the two stations at 11am, 3pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm,” Mr Mahboob said.
Tamam and Wasel Vehicle Testing Centres at Al Arabi Centre, Shamil, Mumayaz, Shirawi, Cars, Enoc, Tasjeel (Al Tawar and Al Barsha), Quick Vehicle Testing, and Wasel Vehicle Testing Centre (Jaddaf) and Tasjeel Vehicle Testing and Registration centres, will be closed from Sunday to July 30, with service resuming on July 31.

The flights
There are direct flights from Dubai to Sofia with FlyDubai (www.flydubai.com) and Wizz Air (www.wizzair.com), from Dh1,164 and Dh822 return including taxes, respectively.
The trip
Plovdiv is 150km from Sofia, with an hourly bus service taking around 2 hours and costing $16 (Dh58). The Rhodopes can be reached from Sofia in between 2-4hours.
