ABU DHABI // A campaign to ensure the safety of Haj pilgrims returning to Abu Dhabi has successfully concluded, with no accidents reported.
Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Department said it intensified its field campaign to ensure the safety of pilgrims returning on the Abu Dhabi - Gweifat road.
A total of 297 buses crossed the border this year.
Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Blushi, director of peripheral traffic at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the campaign included traffic control and raising safety awareness among pilgrims and transport companies.
