ABU DHABI // Drivers will be spared Mawaqif parking fees around mosques during taraweeh prayers.
Paid parking times during Ramadan will be split into two periods – from 9am until 2pm, and 9pm until 2.30am.
On Thursdays, the second period runs from 9pm until midnight. Parking will be free from 12.01am on Fridays until 8.59am on Saturdays.
Those attending the nightly taraweeh prayers are exempt, provided they do not obstruct the flow of traffic.
Residents-only parking areas for permit holders operate between 9pm and 8am.
Ramadan is expected to begin on Thursday.
